Teresa Cahill will be delivering a masterclass to the current cast of the Library Opera project.

Library Operas is a new project launched by Artstrust Productions. Its main aim is to increase awareness of, and appreciation for, opera as an artform. In late 2015, we will tour public libraries in the UK with a reduced version of Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin. The project is also provides training and opportunities for young professionals such as singers, producers, production crew, répétiteurs, and language coaches.

Library Operas is organised in partnership with the Music Department, Goldsmiths, the University of London and is currently funded by Artstrust Productions and Arts Council England.

Teresa Cahill is one of Britain's most renowned sopranos. Her career began at Glyndebourne with performances of Die Zauderflöte (first Lady) and later Falstaff (Alice Ford). She has sung over 100 performances at Covent Garden including Sophie ( Der Rosenkavalier ) under Carlos Kleiber, Elvira/Zerlina ( Don Giovanni ) and Servilia ( La Clemenza di Tito ), which she sang at La Scala, Milan. Her many concert appearances include Mahler’s 8th Symphony with Sir Georg Solti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, also with Riccardo Chailly to open the 1987 Berlin Festival, with Michael Gielen at the Vienna Festival and with Eliahu Inbal in Frankfurt (recorded by Denon), Mahler’s 4th Symphony with Tennstedt/London Philharmonic, Sir Michael Tippett’s 3rd Symphony conducted by the composer and Shostakovich 14th Symphony with Dietrich Fisher-Dieskau/WDR cologne Orchestra conducted by Gary Bertini.
