Event overview
A new exhibition exploring a material portrait of a disillusioned woman.
Fictional Final Goal is a new exhibition by Laura Potter from the Department of Design. The exhibition presents a material portrait of a disillusioned woman, whose character is communicated through a series of hand-made personal possessions, short texts and found objects. It questions the perception of women in politics and the media, and explores a feminised approach to social and cultural resistance.
The installation of mixed-media objects and materials (metals, textiles, wood, synthetic fibres, resins and ceramics), tells the woman’s story as she take arms’ against societal expectations and manufactures the tools she needs for her small acts of rebellion.
The exhibition will take place at the Marsden Woo Gallery, 3 Charlotte Street, London EC2A 3PB.
The exhibition will run from 14 January - 14 February
