Future Histories: Archive exhibition and social media campaign launch

FUTURE HISTORIES, the UK’s first national repository for African, Asian and Caribbean performing arts, is pleased to invite you to a reception at Special Collections and Archives, the Library, Goldsmiths University, New Cross, London SE14 6NW, on January 22 from 5.30 to 8.00pm for the launch of a social media campaign on selected items from the collections.

The evening will also mark the beginning of a new collaboration between FUTURE HISTORIES and Goldsmiths University to make the archives held by FUTURE HISTORIES accessible through the Library’s reading room, facilitating future archival research and enabling greater access to unique resources on African, Asian and intercultural performance in the UK. Between 19th Jan and 27th Feb follow #FutureHistoriesArchive to view selected treasures from the archives .

FUTURE HISTORIES includes material from the motiroti, Black Theatre Forum and NITRO (formerly known as Black Theatre Cooperative), archives, all available for access at Goldsmiths University, and Talawa Theatre archive, currently housed at V&A Blythe House. The full catalogues are available on the National Archives website http://www.a2a.org.uk and soon on Goldsmiths Special Collections and Archives webpages.

Please RSVP to a.measom@gold.ac.uk .
