Women's Art Library hosts the South Asian Women's Creative Collective event featuring the Golden Brown Girl Collective pop-up studio, the Women of Colour Index and a visit to the filmmaker Alia Syed's studio.

RSVP:
* VISIT 1 (Indrani Ashe & Shannon Lewis, Goldsmith Women’s Art Library) - RSVP at:
https://sawcclondonstudiovisit1-goldsmiths.eventbrite.co.uk
*VISIT 2 (Alia Syed): You MUST RSVP, as the studio only fits 15. You’ll then receive studio location info. RSVP at:
https://sawcclondonstudiovisit2-aliasyed.eventbrite.co.uk

Curated by the SAWCC/ This event is in two parts: *VISIT 1: INDRANI ASHE & SHANNON LEWIS (AKA The Golden Brown Girl Collective) Followed by an introduction to the Women’s Art Library by curator Althea Greenan (WAL will serve as a ‘pop-up’ studio for ‘artist in transit’ Indrani Ashe with her collaborative group)*VISIT 2 : ALIA SYED

Alia Syed and Indrani Ashe have a trajectory strikingly different from one another: the physical versus the virtual space; film as a medium versus the online vlog; the micro-historical investigation versus futuristic dystopias. However, both artists’ practices provide intellectually challenging content that is informed by their own self-critical reflection and engagement with contemporary art and life.
