The lecture will draw upon a research project on the moral economies of reality television which rely on TV participants performing their value (or lack) to millions (a virtual public).

Love or hate this type of entertainment, come and find out how Professor Skeggs examines what resources are required to show that one has "person-value" in contemporary society.

Professor Bev Skeggs is in the Sociology Department at Goldsmiths and has published widely on, among other things, Class, Gender and Feminism. She is currently ESRC Professional Fellow on a project on A Sociology of Values and Value.
