Event overview
A real-time crowdfunding event that aims to bring together young entrepreneurs with their potential supporters. You'll hear tips and tricks from successful entrepreneurs who have already made it and then, the battle of ideas will begin.
‘The Creative Lab’ is an event created by a collective of Goldsmiths students and young professionals, based upon the idea of sharing ideas and knowledge and inspiring and provoking others to think, talk and engage with the community that surrounds them. It is like an open mic, real-time crowd funding for people with innovative ideas.
Aspiring entrepreneurs and artists looking for a chance to give their project initial funding can give a short pitch detailing how they plan to make their ideas a reality. After everyone who has signed up has pitched the crowd votes on which idea they like the most. At the end of the event, the cash from door admissions is given to the entrepreneur or artist with the most votes. At our last event it was around £150 but this time we are negotiating with potential sponsors to give a match to the door money. In addition to the pitch session, we will be having guest speakers from a range of successful innovative start-ups so there is also an opportunity for people to seek advice or make connections.
