'Sound | Place' is a sound art exhibition held at the St. James Hatcham building between the 5th and 13th of May 2015, as part of the Goldsmith Graduate Festival.

The exhibition brings artists and researchers from across Goldsmiths departments (Media, Computing, Music, Art, Visual Cultures) to work together to evaluate how to accommodate sound works in one shared place, in the context of a group exhibition.

The exhibition includes sound installations, audiovisual works, sculptures, performances and artist-led presentations. The event showcases artistic sound works that are currently produced at Goldsmiths, while also providing a platform for enhanced listening and multichannel sonic works in fields of contemporary art and experimental music in the wider space of London, UK and internationally.

The exhibition presents a dedicated black room - Listening Box, equipped with 12.2 Ambisonics sound system, but open for other spatial paradigms. The Listening Box features sound pieces, and performances by a selection of international artists, who experiment with the physicality and conceptual alignment of the space, while exploring the immersive potential of the audio setup.

The exhibition is curated by Sandra Kazlauskaite and Tom Tlalim, and is co-funded by the Media & Communications department, Embodied Audiovisual Interaction group (EAVI), AHRC CHASE, and the Goldsmiths Graduate School.
