The movie follows an inspiring Nicaraguan women’s rights group, called “Pun- tos de Encuentro”, as it works to end sexual violence through a powerful blend of mainstream media and grassroots organization.

Made by women and aired on commercial television, Puntos de Encuentro’s family drama “Contra- corriente” has reached millions of viewers in a half dozen countries in Central America and the Caribbean.
