Dr. Darren Cosker, (Centre for the Analysis of Motion) on computer vision, graphics and psychology - and linking academic research with the visual effects industry.

The visual effects and entertainment industries are now a fundamental part of the computer graphics and vision landscapes - and have an impact across society.

Dr. Darren Cosker is a Royal Society Industrial Research Fellow at Double Negative Visual Effects. He is the Director of the Centre for the Analysis of Motion, Entertainment Research and Applications (CAMERA), a £10 million incentive co-funded by EPSRC/AHRC and industry.

In this lecture, Dr. Darren Cosker explores how industry has benefited from academic solutions in industrial settings and has therefore undergone a change in focus on fundamental computer vision research problems.

All are welcome!
