Our end of term orchestral concert features music by Prokofiev, Ravel, Mussorgsky and Richard Rodney Bennett, who would have turned 80 in March.

This exciting programme, conducted by Head of Department Ian Gardiner, includes a wonderful piece by British composer Richard Rodney Bennett, his 'Partita', BMus Music student Kyle Macleod's orchestration of short pieces by Prokofiev, 'Visions Fugitives', Percy Grainger's orchestration of Ravel's piano piece 'La Vallée des Cloches' (strings, tuned percussion, harp and piano), and also the first orchestration of Mussorgsky's 'Pictures at an Exhibition', by Mikhail Tushmalov, created in the 1880s.
