Come celebrate 3 days of Chinese Activities at Goldsmiths with Lion Dances, Tea Ceremonies, Workshops and Performances
Goldsmiths Confucius Institute will have various activities to commemorate " The Year of the Monkey" with an energetic and exciting repertoire of programmes.
From 22nd February will be 3 days of activities across campus to take part in, leading to our Grand Performance in Deptford Town Hall.
On 22nd and 23rd Feb, will be performances and open classes in RHB Great Hall during lunch break to take part in as well as an exhibition of Chinese writing and texts, videos and workshops in Calligraphy and Paper cutting. Afterwards you can taste a a bit of China with our Traditional Tea Ceremony.
22 February
12pm -Chinese Drums and Lion tour, around Campus
1-1.30pm Chinese Classical Dance Open Class, RHB Great Hall
1.30-2pm Tai Chi Open Class, RHB Great Hall
2-2.30pm Tea Ceremony and Activity, RHB Great Hall
23 February
12pm Lion Tour - Procession around Goldsmiths
1-1.30pm - Chinese Folk Dance Open Class, RHB Great Hall
1.30-2pm - Chinese Music Open Class, RHB Great Hall
2-2.30pm- Tea Ceremony and Activity, RHB Great Hall
24 February
GCI Chinese New Year Performance, Council Chamber, Deptford Town Hall
6pm- Food and Drinks reception, Video and photo exhibition
7pm- Performance starts by Goldsmiths Staff, Students and Local Community in Dance, Music and Martial Arts
