Beethoven Symphony Marathon - all 9 in one day, raising money for MsF

9 Symphonies, with 3 conductors, in 12 hours for Médecins Sans Frontières (UK) because the world needs make more art, and less war!

In association with Goldsmiths, University of London, a charity play-through of Beethoven’s symphonies, to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders, culminating in the 9th Symphony with massed choir and soloists at 8pm.

Featuring vocal soloists Joanne Roughton-Arnold - Soprano, Vanessa Heine - Alto, Ed Choo - Tenor and Steve Kennedy - Bass

Players and singers are warmly welcomed to take part for part or all of the day (singers for Beethoven 9 only), audience members are most welcome to drop in throughout the day.

All proceeds will go to support the work MSF do in war zones, refugee camps and areas of famine and disease around the world.

Please email hjmathieson@gmail.com or broughton_andrea@hotmail.com to register your availability, and instrument or voice type by April 20th.

Schedule for the day, each symphony performance is preceded by a 15 minute rehearsal, audience members welcome!

9.45 am Symphony No.1 in C major, Op.21, conducted by Adrián Varela
10.30 am Symphony No.2 in D major, Op.36, conducted by Holly Mathieson
11.45 am Symphony No.3 in E flat major, Op. 55 ‘Eroica’, conducted by Samuel Burstin
1 pm Symphony No.4 in B flat major, Op.60, conducted by Adrián Varela
2.45 pm Symphony No.5 in C minor, Op.67, conducted by Holly Mathieson
3.45 pm Symphony No.6 in F major, Op.68 ‘Pastoral’, conducted by Samuel Burstin
5.15 pm Symphony No.7 in A major, Op.92, conducted by Adrián Varela
6.15 pm Symphony No.8 in F major, Op.93, conducted by Samuel Burstin
8 pm Symphony No.9, Op.125 ‘Choral’, conducted by Holly Mathieson
