Spend 2 weeks exploring and studying in Beijing and Shanghai during July and August as part of Hanban Summer Camp 2016

China Summer Camp 2016
Summer Camp is a two-week programme supported by Hanban- Confucius Institute Headquarters in China, aiming at providing overseas students with opportunities to visit China, experience Chinese culture and learn the Chinese language. The host universities are Tsinghua University in Beijing and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in Shanghai.

Campers will:

Travel for 14 days from 25th July - 7th August. Campers will stay in Beijing and Shanghai for one week in each city.
Study and experience courses in the Chinese language, and Chinese culture such as calligraphy, painting, paper cutting, tea ceremony, Chinese knots, Tai Chi etc.
Visit cultural attractions, natural sceneries and cultural landscapes, such as visiting the Great wall and the Forbidden City in Beijing and the Pearl of the Orient in Shanghai.
The courses and cultural activities will be arranged by Tsinghua University in Beijing and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in Shanghai.

Fees
Accommodation, transportation in China and activities will be fully funded by the Confucius Institute Headquarters – Hanban. Applicants are expected to cover their own international airfare and the Chinese visa application fee as well as insurance.

Eligibility
Students need to have registered for or studied 40 hours of classes with Goldsmiths Confucius Institute or Queen Mary Confucius Institute. If you have not completed 40 hours of classes, you are still eligible to apply.

have sat for HSK exams (you can register and take HSK exams at Goldsmiths Confucius Institute exam centre if needed).
Between 18 and 30 years of age.
Haven’t participated in the Summer Camp by Hanban before.

Registration deadline
The registration deadline is on 6 May 2016. To reserve your place on the China Summer Camp, please pay a reservation fee of £250 via Eventbrite link. This will be refunded to you after your participation in the camp has been confirmed in July.
