Pete Yelding will perform a first half of songs for cello and voice, and second half of a Thumri style Raga Piloo on sitar.

Hear songs from his new album for cello and voice followed by an early evening raga performance on sitar.

Pete owes his practice to the teaching and knowledge he has received from European Art music practitioners, his Sitar teacher and Griots from more than one West African tradition. Much of his time at Goldsmiths has been spent assessing how his composition and performance interacts with these respective musical spaces. He has made a new album called F-NM-NL-G for Cello and Voice in response to this investigation. This rush-hour you will hear songs from the album, followed by an early evening raga performance on sitar.

Free event, all welcome.
