Goldsmiths alumnus Mikey Kirkpatrick (AKA Bird Radio) presents a special preview of his new album 'Lanterns for Men' with Simon Deacon, pianist and lecturer at Goldsmiths.

Mikey began Bird Radio in 2010, four years after graduating from his music degree. He is a singer, flute player and performer who has toured solo in the UK, Europe, US, Canada and Russia, releasing his first album in 2013 'The Boy and the Audience' on Strike Force Entertainment, a sub-label of Cherry Red Records. He released his second album 'Oh, Happy England', a song-cycle of Walter de la Mare poetry settings composed on a residency at Aldeburgh Music with a four-piece band, launching and premiering it at Kings Place in 2015.

Tonight will be a special work in progress preview of material from one of his two current albums that he is developing. He describes the idea of returning to the Deptford Town Hall to perform, thirteen years after his first performance masterclasses in the same room, as COSMIC. The show is free and begins at 8pm.

All welcome
