Support for lecturers and tutors
Staff, students and independent researchers are welcome to visit for group learning sessions and introductory workshops.
Primary page content
Special Collections staff across both sites (Rutherford Building and Deptford Town Hall) work with teaching staff and group leaders from within and outside the Goldsmiths community to offer guided tours and workshops exploring our various collections. This includes school groups and community groups. Both sites have dedicated study spaces adjacent to the collections.
Class workshops and tours
Contact us to arrange a class visit or workshop in Special Collections. Staff are available to advise or lead sessions. You can browse the Goldsmiths Special Collections & Archives Full collections guide and let us know what you would like to see. You can also contact us with a theme or topic, and we will assist in developing a relevant tour or workshop with you for your students.
Exhibition and display programming
Goldsmiths Special Collections has dedicated curatorial staff who have developed exhibition programming across the campus, which includes the Constance Howard Gallery. Proposals to carry out artistic projects engaging with collections are welcome alongside the opportunity to curate displays as part of research outcomes.
Available spaces include the Special Collections and Archives exhibition lobby area and study space in the Rutherford Building. Contact special.collections (@gold.ac.uk) in the first instance. Contact textiles (@gold.ac.uk) for textile-related projects suitable for the Constance Howard Gallery. Other spaces like the Buchi Emecheta Space in the Rutherford Building can also be made available.
Work placements
We offer occasional work placement and work experience opportunities. Please contact us directly at special.collections (@gold.ac.uk) for more details.
