Students and staff need to have a Covid-19 test every week before coming to the Library. If you have Covid-19 symptoms do not come to campus.

Click and Collect

Due to safety measures to protect from Covid-19 you need to reserve online any physical items you would like and then collect them.

This is only available to Goldsmiths students and staff.

Step 1 - Reserve your items

Reserve up to 5 items through Library Search using the 'Place a Hold' function.

We will aim to have your items ready for you within 5 working days (Monday - Friday).

How to 'place a hold' on an item

Go to Library Search.

You will need to be logged in to Library Search to Place a Hold. You can sign in using the 'Sign In' button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Search for the title you wish to reserve, and click on the title of the item.

This will open the full catalogue record. Click on the box under Locations to open the detailed information for each copy of the text.

If a copy of the text is available in the library, you will see the yellow 'Place Hold' button. Click this.

Goldsmiths Library is the only pickup library available, so if you are ready to place the hold, click the 'Place Hold(s)' button.

If the hold is placed, you will then see a message saying 'Success' as below.

Repeat these steps for each item you want to reserve.

If you try to reserve more than 5 items, you will be unable to and will see a message saying 'User has too many holds' as below.

Step 2 - Collection

When your items are ready you will receive a confirmation email.

Come to the self-service collection point in the Lobby of the Library Building. It is open:

  • Monday - Friday, 8am – 10pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 1pm – 5pm

Please use the available hand sanitiser before and after collecting your items, maintain social distancing and double check that the items you have collected are yours.

If there are any issues with your items, you will need to contact Library staff on library ( or via our Live Chat service. We are available Monday - Friday 9am – 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 1pm – 6pm.

Step 3 - Returning

Return your items to the drop box at the front of the Library Building:

  • Monday - Friday, 8am – 10pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 1pm – 5pm

Please be aware that items returned will remain on your Library account until they are processed. We are continuously auto-renewing your items, so you will not get fines.
