Join us for the Constance Howard Memorial Lecture, 'Knots: Towards an ethics of surface' delivered by Prof Andrew Renton in honour of Prof Janis Jefferies
Andrew Renton, Professor of Curating, will deliver the newly re-established Constance Howard Memorial Lecture.
This year's lecture is in honour of Professor Janis Jefferies, instrumental figure in the establishment of the Goldsmiths Textile Collection and Constance Howard Gallery, who retired from Goldsmiths earlier this year.
Constance Howard (MBE), 1910-2000, joined the staff of Goldsmiths in 1947, later going on to establish Department of Embroidery in the Arts School, and to become Principal Lecturer in charge of textiles and fashion. The Constance Howard Gallery (Deptford Town Hall Building) will be open until 18.00 to view the current exhibition by Kobby Adi: like a lit match in a NU-FREEZER: held
