These two workshops will help prepare PhD students for the period between submission and their final oral examination, also known as the viva voce.
The sessions will consider:
The practicalities of the examination process
How to prepare your thesis for submission
Strategies for the selection of examiners
What the assessors are looking for and what questions they will ask
How you can prepare for the examination itself
What outcomes are possible
Traditional thesis route – RHB 274 (Stairs E/Lift 3), session led by Professor Joanna Zylinska
Practice thesis route – RHB 309 (Stairs G/Lift 3), session led by Professor John Drever
