The work of the Blurred Lives Project, Internet Safety and Cyberbullying

This event will showcase the work of the Blurred Lives Project. The Blurred Lives Project is an EU Erasmus+ funded project, running from 2017-2019. It has brought together five European partners with specific expertise and experience in tackling cyberbullying. An initial online survey was carried out on negative experiences pupils have had on the Internet. This was followed by focusing on pupil participation and pupil voice, where focus groups and quality circles (QCs) with pupils aged between 14-16 years in London schools were performed. The QCs resulted in pupil-produced outputs of information/advice in four areas: for teachers, for parent/carers, for fellow pupils and for social network providers. This event features the work of the pupils and the London team on the Project.

In addition, there will be short presentations from five leading organisations in the field of cyberbullying, internet safety, and bullying prevention with a Q&A session:

Martha Evans, Director, anti-bullying Alliance- The work of the Anti-bullying Alliance
Gemma Clemson, Kidscape Programmes and Volunteering Manager- The work of Kidscape on bullying prevention
Will Gardner, CEU Childnet International- Online sexual harassment and the deSHAME project
Adrienne Katz, Director of Youthworks- Vulnerable children in a digital world
Carrie Herbert MBE, Founder and President, Red Balloon- The work of Red Balloon Learner Centres

The event will be of interest to anyone involved in the areas of cyberbullying, internet safety and bullying prevention in schools- teachers, practitioners, researchers in Psychology and Education.
