Goldsmiths Writers' Centre presents... Visualizing the Novel

Speaker: Ingrid Persaud

The New York Times called Ingrid Persaud’s novel, Love After Love, “A stellar debut . . . about an unconventional family, fear, hatred, violence, chasing love, losing it and finding it again just when we need it most.” It’s a captivating book, vividly conjuring the complexities of the human heart and the landscapes and sensibilities of its setting, from Trinidad to New York City. It won the Costa First Novel Award, and Ingrid Persaud has also won the Commonwealth Short Story Prize in 2017 and the BBC Short Story Award in 2018. She read law at the LSE and was a legal academic — all before taking degrees in fine art at Goldsmiths, University of London and Central Saint Martins. With Professor Derval Tubridy she will discuss the breadth of the creative imagination, from the novel to short stories to visual art.
