The 2022/2023 cohort from the Goldsmiths MA/MFA in Computational Arts invites you to MUNG, a showcase of the brilliant work we've accomplished within the past 4 months.

MUNG

A "mung" is a computational fuck up, a misspell or an absent symbol which results in catastrophe. It starts with a small act of change, one performed with the intention to build. Gradually, one change begets another, and then another, culminating in an avalanche of transformation which results in "irreversible destruction" (Raymond E., 2004).

This is our goal: to create disruptive "mungs" which exist to challenge/destroy existing systems of oppressive thought. Our works are instruments of violence, born from the desire to build a better world and transcend beyond the systems of power which dominate our bodies and minds. To make something new, "irreversible destruction" must be instigated.

The showcase features more than 80 projects centred around the creative practices of physical computing, game development, interactive installation, and more.
