Event overview
Our series on 'Palestinian Voices' continues with Khaled Jarrar's documentary, following an elderly Palestinian woman's journey from Damascus to Europe.
The repetition of history and the passing on of collective and individual traumas from generation to generation is a central theme of Palestinian experience and identity. In a journey across the Balkan route, Director Khaled Jarrar follows an elderly Palestinian women from Damascus to Europe. Walking side by side with Nadira and her family towards a utopian freedom, Jarrar asks himself about the meaning of home, belonging and identity, while the memories of his own childhood come back to life after many years of silence.
Goldsmiths Human Rights Film Festival presents the film as part of our series on Palestinian Voices. The film will be followed by a Q&A with the Director Khaled Jarrar (joining us online from New York).
The event will be followed by a drinks reception.
