Join us to hear poets Natalie Linh Bolderston, Catherine Redford and Shagufta K. Iqbal read from and discuss their work

The Goldsmiths Writers’ Centre, under the directorship of Tom Lee and Amy Sackville, exists to encourage new writing, to stimulate debate about all forms of literature, and create links between the different parts of the college where creative writing takes place.

Natalie Linh Bolderston is a Vietnamese-Chinese-British poet from Stoke-on-Trent. She has won an Eric Gregory Award and the Rebecca Swift Women Poets’ Prize, and has been shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Single Poem. She is an alumna of the Roundhouse Poetry Collective, the London Library Emerging Writers’ Programme, and Writing West Midlands’ Room 204 programme. Her debut collection, Divinations on Survival, is published by Liverpool University Press.

Catherine Redford’s debut collection, The Way the Water Held Me (The Emma Press), is shortlisted for the Forward Prizes 2026 (Jerwood Prize for Best First Collection). Her poetry has been published in Magma (as Selected Poet), Under the Radar, The Aftershock Review, and Propel. She is an editor at Dust Poetry, a Writing West Midlands Room 204 writer, and a Nine Arches Press Dynamo Poet.

Shagufta K. Iqbal's debut poetry collection Jam Is For Girls, Girls Get Jam was described by gal-dem as ‘heart-wrenching and relatable’ and praised by Nikesh Shukla as ‘a socio-political masterclass’. Her writing is included in Slam: You’re Gonna Wanna Hear This, Spin! and The Book of Bristol. Her poetry film Borders is a powerful exploration of displacement and resilience and has received multiple international awards and screenings. Her poetry collection Blue, Babe (Nine Arches Press) is out in Autumn 2026.
