Blake Morrison and Francis Spufford will be reading from and discussing their recent books - 'The Late Weekend' (Blake Morrison); 'Red Plenty' (Francis Spufford).

Blake Morrison's novel psychological thriller 'The Last Weekend' describes the events of a stifling August bank holiday, as two friends and rivals are re-united after a long gap - with frightening results.

Part-fiction, part-history, Francis Spufford's 'Red Plenty' is set in the USSR, in the heady years of 1950s, when a bright future of rich communists (and envious capitalists) seemed altogether possible.

Both authors work at Goldsmiths in the Department of English and Comparative Literature. Blake Morrison is Professor of Creative & Life Writing; Francis Spufford is a Senior Lecturer.
