Director of Design at Supermassive Games Ltd., Steve Goss talks about the art of making computer games.

Steve Goss is an experienced games development professional with over 25 years experience as a hands on video game designer, studio manager and creative director. Steve has worked for companies both in the UK and the US, including EIDOS, Atari, Electronic Arts, Crystal Dynamics, Lionhead and Microsoft.

Steve will focus on three areas: (1) Why Design Games, (2) The current design methodology at Supermassive Games, and (3) A look at some projects that speak to those design values.

SUPERMASSIVE GAMES is an independent Guildford-based developer setup in the summer of 2008 and which developed START THE PARTY \& TUMBLE for PlayStation Move. In 2009 it took over the development of all of the LITTLEBIGPLANET PSN downloadable levels including the recently released MUPPETS as well as contributing significantly to LITTLEBIGPLANET 2 & VITA. Its newest titles include: WALKING WITH DINOSAURS for SONY Wonderbook and the teen horror UNTIL DAWN. The Guildford studio is growing quickly, with currently over 120 artists, designers and programmers, who are working on further (as yet unannounced) titles.
