The Department of English & Comparative Literature presents:

Naomi Wood talking about her acclaimed new novel, 'Mrs Hemingway',

Before joining the staff of ECL last September, Naomi Wood studied at Cambridge and UEA, where she completed a PhD in creative writing. Her first novel, 'The Godless Boys'. imagines an alternative England, where the Church controls the country and non-believers have been exiled to a remote island. Her new novel – the research for which took her from the British Library to Chicago, Paris, Antibes, Key West and Cuba - tells the story of Hemingway and his four wives.

'a wonderful book: carefully written, richly imagined and emotionally wise' (Telegraph)

'enticing…Wood succeeds remarkably (Guardian)
