Wide Sargasso Sea: A Fiftieth Anniversary Celebration

Jean Rhys’ now canonical Caribbean modernist novel was published in 1966. This event will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of that publication and analyse the continuing significance of the book. Confirmed speakers include Judith Raiskin, Sue Thomas, Mary Lou Emery, Helen Carr, Angela Smith, Erica Johnson, and Patricia Moran.

The event will run from early Tuesday afternoon to late Wednesday morning. There will be a refreshment charge payable at registration on the day to cover coffees/teas and a buffet dinner on the Tuesday evening.
