Dr Asu Aksoy

Biography

Dr Asu Aksoy is presently in charge of international project development at Santral Istanbul, a new international arts and culture initiative by Istanbul Bilgi University. Previously, Dr. Aksoy worked for many years in British universities on a variety of research projects, focusing on urban and cultural transformation in the context of migration, globalisation and technological change. She has recently completed an EU research project, looking at changing city spaces and cultural policies in Europe within the context of transnationalisation of migrant cultural and social networks. She has published widely on these topics and is presently a visiting fellow at Goldsmiths College, London. She is involved in developing teaching and research programmes at Istanbul Bilgi University Cultural Management Programme on cultural policy at local and national levels.
