Event overview
Doing digital research requires researchers keep themselves, respondents and data safe. This is becoming increasingly critical and complicated. In collaboration with Tom Sanderson of the Centre for Investigative Journalism (CIJ), Methods Lab is hosting a bespoke digital security/anti-surveillance masterclass to teach (or refresh) Sociology students on how best to do online searches on topical subjects (to avoid being red-flagged), encrypt sensitive communications and safely secure data.
This is a highly practical session relevant to everyone from 1st years to PhD students. Make sure you bring your laptop and phone with you. Numbers will be capped at 20.
