Entry requirements for students from Italy

Undergraduate degrees
BA/BSc/BMus

Esame di Stato/ Maturita
Goldsmiths standard offer for applicants with an Esame di Stato or Maturita is a mark between 70 and 75 (different subjects will set their own entrance requirements)

European/International Baccalaureate
Goldsmiths will consider applicants with a minimum EB result of 60% (6.0) or higher, or a minimum IB of 32 overall (as a guide, we frequently ask for 34); some subjects may ask for higher results than others.

GCSE Equivalents for PGCE Programmes

• Diploma di Maturita Classica / Scientifica / Tecnica / Linguistica / Professionale /  Magistrale / Artistica
  A level equivalent. Although students do not have individual subject scores, they are given a mark sheet from their school (‘pagella’).  If they have passed maths or English on this document (minimum of 6), then it may be considered to approach GCSE Maths and English.

Postgraduate degrees
MA/MSc/MMus/PGCE

Applicants who have successfully completed at least a Diploma di Laurea would be considered for a place on a postgraduate course.

English language qualifications

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - 6.5*
International GCSE (IGCSE) English as a second language at Grade C
TOEFL - Test in English as a foreign language with a score of at least 580 (237 with the computerised scoring system) and 4.5 in the test of written English paper (TWE)*
Certificate of Proficiency in English Cambridge Level 5
Certificate in Advanced English Cambridge Level 4*
