Inside the department
We share a common interest in innovatory research methods for working in cross cultural contexts, particularly with families and communities and formal educational contexts.
Current research spans the areas of language, literacy and learning practices in multilingual communities, bilingual learning strategies in mainstream and community-based complementary schools and cultural practices, identities and discourses in multilingual contexts.
We have strong international links with colleagues in Canada, China, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Taiwan, and New Zealand as well as with a number of countries such as China with whom we share both teaching and research programmes.
We have hosted Visiting Research Fellows at the Centre who have contributed to the research and work of the Centre. We welcome research students from home and overseas who wish to undertake postgraduate study at the Centre for Language, Culture and Learning.
The centre currently houses a number of funded research projects and its members are actively engaged in research publications.
