Course description
Chinese Northeast Yangko is a highly representative folk dance in Northeast China, rooted in agrarian civilization and festival culture. Characterized by the unique stylistic essence of "steadiness with rhythmic fluidity, fluidity with grace, and grace with witty charm" (a classic summary of its movement aesthetics, emphasizing stable foundations paired with dynamic vitality, elegant expressions infused with humor), it embodies the optimistic and straightforward personality traits of the people in Northeast China and serves as a vital component of the Chinese folk dance system.
This course is designed for enthusiasts of Chinese dance, focusing on the core techniques and cultural connotations of Northeast Yangko. By utilizing handkerchief flowers as dance props, learners will understand and perceive the intrinsic connections between the dance form, Chinese culture, and Chinese folk festivals. Finally, the course will also integrate the knowledge acquired throughout the sessions to choreograph small-scale performance routines, enabling learners to apply theoretical and practical skills comprehensively.
