Special Collections


The CRM collection contains over 550 books, over 3000 scores and over 280 sound recordings.

These include donations from the State Museum for Musical Culture in Moscow (The Glinka Museum); the private collection of Vladimir Blok; the Moscow-based State Institute for Research in the Arts; the publisher Kompozitor; the Library of the Russian Composers’ League; Professor Arthur Jacobs and The Stravinsky Collection (bequest of Howard Wakeling); Boosey & Hawkes (20th-century orchestral scores from Russia/the Soviet Union). The majority of the collection can be searched through the Goldsmiths library catalogue

* Malcolm Henbury-Ballan's collection of Russian piano music, chamber music, orchestral and operatic scores (including rare first editions);

* Numerous post-Soviet scores, recordings and documents;

* Gerard McBurney's collection of scores, books, recorded interviews, press clippings and concert programmes (on loan).
