Research Interests

As an author and journalist I have written on architecture, urbanism and literature. My current project is a book titled The House of Fiction and is an exploration of the great houses principal to some of the great works of English fiction, including Strawberry Hill and the Castle of Otranto, Chawton House and Mansfield Park, Abbotsford and the fiction of Walter Scott, Rook’s Nest and Howard's End, Madresfield and Brideshead Revisited, with references to contemporary novels inspired and inflected by notable English houses.
