The Sunday Times’ Good University Guide 2027 has named Goldsmiths as Runner-up University of the Year for Social Inclusion. Our overall ranking has moved up 5 places, and we rank in the top 10 for 3 subjects.

Goldsmiths ranks 82nd in the UK, meaning that we have moved up 5 places in the overall league table compared with our ranking in the 2026 Guide.
We rank in the top 10 in the UK for History of Art, Architecture and Design, Art and Design and Communication and Media Studies.
- In the league table for History of Art, Architecture and Design we rank 6th.
- For Art and Design Goldsmiths places 8th in the subject league table.
- For Communication and Media Studies, Goldsmiths is ranked 10th. Communication and Media Studies has seen a significant rise of 37 places compared to last year’s league table.
Runner-up University of the Year for Social Inclusion
Goldsmiths has been named Runner-Up University of the Year for Social Inclusion in the Good University Guide’s specialist awards. The University of the Year for Social Inclusion is Plymouth Marjon University.

The Good University Guide highlights that Goldsmiths has risen from 43rd last year to 13th in the social inclusion index this year – an improvement of 30 places. It refers to outreach schemes and initiatives like the art summer school.
The social inclusion index provides an insight into a University’s student body and the fairness of the university admissions process. The Good University Guide uses metrics drawn from datasets published by Hesa and UCAS. You can read more about how the Guide is compiled on their website.
