Doireann Larkin is the Programme Convenor for the on campus and distance learning programmes on the MA in Understanding Domestic Violence & Sexual Abuse. Doireann’s areas of interest include: trauma informed arts practices to address domestic abuse; domestic abuse in adolescent relationships, the contemporary relationships between adults and the parents who were abusive to them in childhood, caregiving and domestic abuse and the mechanisms of coercive control and grooming.

For over ten years, Doireann worked to develop and deliver arts based interventions for young people at risk of abuse in a range of youth settings as well as training programmes for the adults who support them. She has also provided support for the national domestic violence helpline at Refuge and for the work of Mosac who deliver clinical support and advocacy services to the non-abusing parents and carers of sexually abused children.
