Final preparations for opening of New Academic Building
Work on the New Academic Building is nearly complete, with both the Institute of Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship (ICCE) and the Department of Media and Communications settling in to their new surroundings.
Jim Rowland (left), Departmental Co-ordinator for Media and Communications is looking forward to opening for business: "After much effort from a great many people, it's wonderful to be in
the new building for the beginning of the coming academic year. I'm sure our staff and students will be excited and
very enthusiastic to be working in the newest and 'greenest' building on
campus."
After overseeing the project from the outset, Catriona Boulton, Head of Capital Projects (pictured middle with Tony Dowling from Wilmott Dixon), is also pleased to see the Building nearly completed: "It's great to watch the staff settling in, and seeing the Departments enthused about their new home. With the furniture and fittings now in place, the building looks very like the architect's sketches that got everyone so excited at the onset of the project. We're now looking forward to the start of the term when staff and students can begin to use the facilities and see the building come to life."
