Membership of the alumni community comes with a number of benefits, wherever you are based in the world.
Keeping in touch: the latest news and alumni email
The latest news
Receive the latest news from Goldsmiths and fellow alumni throughout the year via the alumni magazine, Goldlink, and newsletter. We welcome submissions so get in touch if you have anything you would to share: alumni (@gold.ac.uk).
Keep in touch via social media
After leaving Goldsmiths, you can access a free alumni email. Use it to keep in touch with friends or provide a professional email address for CVs and job applications.
Please note that converting your gold.ac.uk is not the same as joining the alumni mailing list. If you have signed up to the alumni mailing list, you will still need to apply to convert your email address.
At 120 days after your course ends, you will lose access to Shibboleth, learn.gold (VLE) and other Office 365 services, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and One Drive, as these services are not available to alumni. Your course end date is the official date your programme ends and prior to your graduation ceremony.
If you experience any problems accessing your email, check our website for known problems. If you need to reset your password, and you left Goldsmiths after 01 January 2017, please use One Identity Password Manager. Otherwise, email alumni (@gold.ac.uk) and we will put in your request with the IT Service Desk.
Find out how to use your Goldsmiths email and accessing it across devices.
Your course end date is 1 April 2020 onwards
Application for students who completed from 1 April 2020 has not opened. Find out more about your alumni email.
Your course end date is before 5 February 2020
The deadline to convert your gold.ac.uk email to an Alumni email has passed.
New alumni email request
Due to a high volume of requests, application for creating a new alumni email is currently closed. This applies to all alumni.
Once you have completed your course and become an alumnus of Goldsmiths, you no longer have access to your student VLE account.
For any further questions about accessing materials from your time as a student, please contact your department. For general queries about how the VLE works, please email talic (@gold.ac.uk).
Reunions and events: on campus and across the globe
Goldsmiths reunites with alumni in London, the UK and across the globe to celebrate our vibrant alumni community based all over the world. It includes Around the World in 7 Days, a series organised by local alumni volunteers in their cities across.
Lifelong learning: library membership and discounts on study
You can continue to use the Library at Goldsmiths for free as a reference user, or if you would like to borrow books, there is a new and more affordable rate of £30 for three years.
For new alumni (those who have left within three years), borrowing membership is free for three years after you’ve left Goldsmiths. You can also access the Library 24/7 and use the guest Wi-Fi.
Please note that alumni are currently unable to access computers. While on campus alumni can access most of the Library's online resources; however, are unable to access them remotely due to licensing restrictions.
Access alumni e-resources
Are you thinking of postgraduate study or want to continue to enrich your knowledge? Use the alumni portal to access e-resources wherever you are in the world. Your alumni portal account is not dependent on having an alumni library membership and it is separate from your existing membership.
Below are e-resources currently available to alumni:
- JSTOR Arts & Sciences Collections
- SAGE Premier Journals Collection
- Duke University Press Journals & eBooks
Discounts on study
Alumni, including Study Abroad and LaSalle students, can access a 30% fee discount if you are a home/EU student or equivalent amount in pounds sterling if you are an international student. The discount applies to taught Masters programmes (MRes and PGCE programmes are not included) and for 2020 entry.
Please note that the alumni discount will be reviewed and is not guaranteed to be available for 2021 entry. Please email fees (@gold.ac.uk) for any questions.
Goldsmiths offers a range of short courses in the arts, social sciences, business, computing and more. You can receive a 15% discount on our short courses (see individual courses for terms and conditions). Email alumni (@gold.ac.uk) for the discount code.
Networking and careers support
Ongoing careers support
New alumni continue to have access to CareerSPACE and receive professional careers advice and resources for three years after they’ve left Goldsmiths. You will need to register for an alumni account to access this free service offered by the Goldsmiths Careers Service. Find out more about the careers support available to you.
On campus benefits and discounts
