George is a Lecturer on the PGCE Primary and Secondary programmes.

George worked in primary and secondary education for several years before becoming a Lecturer in Education. He leads on Music and co-leads on Science on the PGCE Primary programme. He also teaches Physics on the PGCE Secondary Science programme.

Research interests

George's research at Goldsmiths explores the relationship between motivation in education and subcultures, with a particular focus on skateboarding. His current projects include a Goldsmiths Impact-funded grant centered on a school in Malmö, Sweden, and an audit of the UK's skateable spaces for Skateboard GB - (https://www.gold.ac.uk/news/2025/skateboard-gb/).

With a background in Physics, having completed his MSc at Cardiff University, George is also interested in the roles of data analysis and quantitative methods in the Social Sciences.
