Sir Steve Bullock has played a major role in helping shape and lead the community around Goldsmiths over the last four decades. Mayor of the Borough of Lewisham for 16 years, his links to local politics extend back to 1982 when he first served on the Borough Council. In his time as Mayor Sir Steve, who was knighted in 2007 for services to local government, launched the Young Mayor programme and also helped lead the successful fight to save Lewisham A&E. In May this year, Sir Steve was commissioned to be a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London.
