The partnerships with Somerset House Studios and Tate Modern are a testament to Goldsmiths Computing’s growing influence in the world of interdisciplinary innovation and creative Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Somerset House Studios’ n-Space: Exploring the future of art and technology
This three-year pilot programme launching in October 2025 will establish an exciting new hub dedicated to interdisciplinary experimentation in art and technology. The hub will bring together artists, technologists, and innovators to explore new sociotechnical systems and the potential for new knowledge and interventions. Goldsmiths has been invited to collaborate with a select group of institutions which include the Creative Computing Institute, University of the Arts London (UAL).
The initiative, supported by the Rothschild Foundation, aligns with Goldsmiths’ mission to foster creative and technological synergies. By participating in n-Space, we’ll be playing a key role in shaping future art and technology practices, further cementing our important role in the global conversation on emerging sociotechnical systems.
Tate Exchange: Creativity meets AI and the public
Goldsmiths is also proud to be making its debut at the Tate Modern’s renowned Tate Exchange programme. This spring’s Tea, Tech, and Exchange will invite the public to engage in a series of drop-in workshops, hosted by Goldsmiths, alongside UAL and Anthropic, a cutting-edge AI company founded by former OpenAI researchers. The workshops will highlight the potential of AI in artistic practices, and the role emerging technologies can play to challenge traditional creative processes.

As well as engaging the public in chats about all things AI related over tea, our students and staff will be also leading hands-on demos, beta testing, and basic coding sessions for everyone to get involved with.
This marks the first time Goldsmiths has been invited to participate in Tate Exchange and our contribution will focus on AI and creativity, a niche we have long been proud to pioneer.
We look forward to bringing Goldsmiths’ unique voice and expertise to both these exciting new projects and further cementing our place as a hub for creativity, innovation, and intellectual exploration.”

Both these collaborations represent a bold and exciting new chapter for Goldsmiths, elevating our reputation as a leader in creative innovation and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of art and technology. As we embark on these journeys with Somerset House and Tate Modern, we’re excited about the opportunities they’ll create for our students to participate, collaborate, and contribute their skills and learning.
