Marion completed an internship as part of the Santander internship programme

"I graduated from Goldsmiths in December and I began the placement at Haberdashery Design in collaboration with the Medical Research Council (MRC) in January. I’m a designer and my work is focused on the creative communication of science, health and wellbeing, so an opportunity to work across both the science and design communities seemed like the perfect position. 

The main project I was involved with was a huge public exhibition called ‘Strictly Science’. Although my role was largely running and contributing to the online campaign, I helped with lots of different aspects behind the scenes of the show including planning and coordinating, setting up, and running the event itself. I’m interested in running events and while I had some experience in project management this was a chance to experience a large-scale public event with an important company involving large numbers of people. 

I’ve had a fantastic three months, my colleagues across both companies were great to work with, I’ve met all sorts of interesting and exciting people and I think I’ve made friends for life. I was never made to feel like ‘the intern’; I've been treated like one of the family!"
