Jacqueline's study experience

I enjoyed studying for my MA in Culture Language and Identity and am currently enjoying my PhD studies in Education.

My favourite part of my MA studies was that I could use my lived experience in my research. The fact that within the MA there was a focus on reflective study meant that, as a teacher, I viewed the systems and processes I worked within with an enlightened and critical eye. This enabled me to identify ways to improve my own personal practice and contribute positively to the wider school community.

The guidance I received from my supervisor during my MA was excellent and I felt supported all the way. Even though I had to study throughout the pandemic, I was kept informed via online tutorials and was still able to access books from the library.

Support at Goldsmiths

I would advise students to take advantage of all the additional support offered at Goldsmiths during the course and stay connected with other students to gain mutual peer support.

South-East London life

I have lived in South-East London all my life and have always found it a vibrant place to live, study and work. There is a great social scene for people of all ages and interests. Also, Goldsmiths University is a stunning building and a very welcoming space, so is a pleasure to research in.
