Engaging and convenient online learning

I studied the MA online; I was in the first cohort to do so. I found the work fascinating, and the seminars and lectures were very interesting.

Each week, a new module would be released making it easy to plan your study time.

I loved doing the research dissertation at the end. I gained a distinction for it, which meant I achieved distinction overall for the whole MA.

On a personal level, I learned a lot about my capabilities as a student, which is something I had never considered before.

Life after Goldsmiths

Currently, I am doing a PhD course at University of Chester in Psychological Trauma. It will further my research which began on the course at Goldsmiths.

I have also been teaching at the local university and tutoring students on another course run by a private business.

I still run a counselling practice and specialise in working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

When I gain my PhD, I intend to write a book and continue lecturing and working with survivors.

Advice for future distance learning students

Studying online can be hard, it can seem isolating, but that doesn't have to be the case.

Immerse yourself in the group tasks, set up a WhatsApp group where you can support each other, and just enjoy!
