We offer a range of scholarships, bursaries and fee waivers for new postgraduate students. These offer additional financial support for your studies, and they don't have to be paid back.

2020 entry funding

For 2020 entry we are offering the following fee waivers, bursaries and scholarships for postgraduate students.

Goldsmiths Masters Scholarships

Value

Eligibility criteria

You must meet the general eligibility criteria and regulations. You must also:

  • Be holding an offer of study on a taught Masters programme at Goldsmiths
  • Be a UK citizen and eligible for Home fees or an EU citizen eligible for EU fees

Applications will open on Friday 13 March 2020.

When applications open you can apply through our online portal, MyGoldsmiths. You will be sent instructions after you have been made an offer of an academic place at Goldsmiths.

Selection process

Successful applicants will be selected on a competitive basis.

Initial shortlisting by eligibility criteria will be completed by our Scholarships Co-ordinator. All applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are then forwarded to the next selection stage.

Applications will then be considered by the relevant Head of Academic Department. They understand that applicants will have a broad range of differing skills, attributes and experiences, so they will give equal consideration to both the applicant’s academic record and their answers to the questions posed in the award application form. They also understand that what is important is the content of the answers and their relevance to the questions, not the standard of writing.  

Applications will be considered against the stated criteria. Final award recipients and reserve candidates will then be decided.

Please note that part-time students will receive the £1,000 fee waiver over two years.

Goldsmiths Company Postgraduate Bursaries

Eligibility criteria

You must meet the general eligibility criteria and regulations. You must also:

  • Be holding an offer of study on a taught postgraduate programme at Goldsmiths (excluding PGCE programmes)
  • Be a UK citizen and eligible for Home fees
  • Be new to postgraduate study
  • Be experiencing financial difficulties
  • Not be in receipt of any Goldsmiths funding

Application deadlines

Applications will open on Friday 13 March 2020.

When applications open you can apply through our online portal, MyGoldsmiths. You will be sent instructions after you have been made an offer of an academic place at Goldsmiths.

You will be required to provide proof of your household income.

Selection process

Successful applicants will be selected on a competitive basis.

The panel will consist of representatives from Admissions, Widening Participation, and an academic department. The panel will assess the applications against the stated criteria. 

Final award recipients and reserve candidates will be decided by the panel.

Humanitarian Scholarships

  • £11,400 scholarship for your year of study
  • We will also pay for a return trip to and from the UK for you

Eligibility criteria

You must meet the general eligibility criteria and regulations. You must also:

  • Be currently residing in Palestine or be a holder of Palestinian travel documents
  • Require a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK
  • Be holding an offer of study on a taught Masters programme at Goldsmiths
  • Be planning on returning to Palestine or your place of residence to support civic society there

International Response Scholarships

Value 

  • £11,400 allowance
  • A full tuition fee waiver for each year of study
  • Accommodation fee waiver (for a single study bedroom in Goldsmiths halls of residence)

You must meet the general eligibility criteria and regulations. You must also:

  • Have refugee status in the UK, or have an active application for asylum in the UK (you will be required to provide documentation to demonstrate your status)
  • Be holding an offer of study on an undergraduate or taught postgraduate degree at Goldsmiths

  • Be classified as international for fee purposes, and not be in receipt of official sponsorship covering your tuition fees

Goldsmiths Alumni Fee Waiver

30% fee discount to home and EU alumni, and the equivalent amount in pounds sterling to international alumni

Eligibility criteria

The award is available to the following Goldsmiths graduates:

  • Home, EU and international graduates (full-time and part-time)
  • Study Abroad graduates
  • Goldsmiths, University of London LaSalle graduates
  • Goldsmiths, University of London Distance Learning programme graduates who have been awarded a BA in English, BSc in Computing and Information Systems, or a BSc in Creative Computing

You must be applying to start a taught Masters programme (MRes and PGCE programmes are not included).

Goldsmiths Excellence Fee Waiver

Sir William Boreman's Foundation Grants

Value

Grants of up to £3,000 that can be used to help cover living expenses while studying, including:
  • Daily living costs such as rent and food
  • Travel costs to and from university
  • Educational materials, books and equipment
  • Childcare costs
