Dual Degree between Universitas Negeri Malang & Goldsmiths - MA Designing Education
The School of Design at Goldsmiths is collaborating with Universitas Negeri Malang in Indonesia to deliver a newly designed credit recognition and dual degree for those interested in exploring study in different contexts internationally.
Once you have successfully completed year one of Masters of Educational Technology at Universitas Negeri Malang, you’ll be able to enter onto the MA Designing Education at Goldsmiths for year two of your studies. At the end of your studies, you will receive both degrees.

What you'll study
During your time at Goldsmiths, you will study the following modules.
Compulsory modules
These three compulsory modules are structured and delivered to facilitate a blend of online, face-to-face, and independent study:

You will also be able to select 60 credits of option modules. Option modules offer a complementary learning experience that allow you to select modules in Goldsmiths organised into the following themes:

This may also include others that are available when you begin the Masters as new, relevant modules are developed throughout the Goldsmiths community.

Teaching
On the MA Designing Education at Goldsmiths, lectures are delivered by both established teaching staff and visiting specialist tutors with expert knowledge in their specific fields.
Alongside this, you’ll take part in seminars, which will develop your skills in analysing and evaluating historical materials. These sessions will also help you interpret video and audio recordings of key performance texts through a combination of tutor-led discussions and student presentations.
A significant amount of learning will be achieved in group practical projects. In addition, activities such as placements are designed to strengthen your individual communication skills and to give you first-hand experience of a professional working environment.

Entry requirements
To start the programme at Universitas Negeri Malang, students must initially have satisfied Universitas Negeri Malang’s criteria and apply to UM.
Students who have completed the first year at UM can apply to study for the second year at Goldsmiths. Students must also meet the following requirements of the MA in Designing Education:
Entry requirements are based upon applicants' experience as a designer or creative practitioner wanting to apply designing to an educational context, or as an educator with experience in an educational, training or leadership context with evidence of a commitment to furthering their practice as an educator.
Candidates will normally be expected to have a degree in a related field – education, design or creative subject, management, innovation – or equivalent professional experience.
Designers require a portfolio evidencing projects with an educational dimension. Educators do not require a portfolio but will have to talk about their interest in designing education at interview.
English language requirements
If English isn’t your first language, you will need an IELTS score (or equivalent English language qualification) of 6.5 with a 6.5 in writing and no element lower than 6.0 to study this programme. Annual tuition fees

Scholarships
Goldsmiths does not offer any specific scholarships to this dual degree programme.
