Transport for London 18+ Student Oyster photocard

Goldsmiths is authorised to approve online applications for the 18+ Oyster Card.

If you are enrolled on a full-time programme of study, have met all the conditions and have no outstanding fees, we will authorise your application directly. This is normally within seven working days of submitting your application.

TFL eligibility for part-time students is quite strict and does not necessarily meet Goldsmiths criteria. More can be found on their 18+ Student Oyster page.

Visit the TfL website for further details and applications.

Please note that if you interrupt or withdraw from your course, or change to a part-time course, we must notify Transport for London. Your 18+ Oyster Card may be cancelled.

Transport for London 16+ Zip Oyster photocard

Goldsmiths is not licensed to authorise applications for the 16+ Zip Oyster photocard. This is open to students aged 16-18 enrolled on a Level 3 further education course, eg A-levels.

16-25 and 26-30 National Railcards

If you are aged between 16 and 30 you can buy a railcard that gets you 1/3 off Standard Anytime and Off-Peak fares, as well as Standard Advance and First Class Advance fares.

Visit 16-25railcard.co.uk or 26-30railcard.co.uk for more information.

Mature (31+) students railcard

If you are enrolled on a full-time programme of study, you can apply as a mature student for a 16-25 Railcard. Any student over 25 can do this.

Download the Mature Student Declaration from 16-25railcard.co.uk and bring it to the Student hubs so we can authorise and stamp it.

You can then either buy it online or at a train station ticket office. You will need to provide proof of identity (your Goldsmiths ID card).

Please note that Goldsmiths accepts no liability for any costs associated with student travel or discount schemes.
