Support needed for Access and Participation Plan monitoring
Primary page content
Each year, higher education providers are required to complete a monitoring return for the Office for Students (OfS) regarding progress made in delivering their Access and Participation Plan (APP). APPs set out how higher education providers intend to improve equality of opportunity for underrepresented groups to access, succeed in, and progress from higher education.
Goldsmiths is currently in the process of completing the monitoring return for the 2019-20 APP and we are seeking a student to complete the ‘student submission’ element of the return.
The student submission is an independent and optional report which supports the OfS in their understanding of the progress being made against the APP.
The nominated student would need to read the APP and guidance from the OfS, carry out research with Goldsmiths students to ensure that their experiences and perspectives are taken account of, investigate the delivery of the APP and write up a final report using the OfS template. This is an independent report, but support will be provided by the College to access any information required regarding delivery of the APP.
The student submission will be returned directly to the OfS by the nominated student, with a deadline of 16 April 2021.
It is expected that the student submission will take a maximum of 30 hours to complete, which will be remunerated. This work would particularly suit someone who has an interest in widening participation and is looking to develop their research skills.
Written expressions of interest of no more than 200 words, outlining your interest in, and suitability for, this project should be made via email to James Ringer, Director of Student Recruitment (j.ringer@gold.ac.uk) by Wednesday 10 March. A selection decision will then be made by the end of Friday 12 March.
