Candida Gertler is co-founder of the Outset Contemporary Art Fund and was given an honorary fellowship in 2023.
Candida Gertler co-founded the Outset Contemporary Art Fund, an international charity supporting arts projects in nine countries. Since 2003, Outset has worked with projects benefitting public centres of excellence from the grassroots to the world’s most renowned museums.
The charity has raised over £13 million worldwide in support of the creative ecosystem and is recognised for creating influential models of responsive arts philanthropy, including innovative public-private schemes and initiatives.
Candida Gertler was the recipient of the 2010 Mont Blanc Award for Arts Patronage and was awarded an OBE for services to Contemporary Visual Arts and Arts Philanthropy in Her Majesty’s 2015 Birthday Honours List.
In 2023, Goldsmiths awarded Candida Gertler an honorary fellowship.
